I shot this on Phoenix 200 35mm Film (hints the name). If you aren’t familiar with the world of film photography, Phoenix is a newer emulsion (recipe for film). It’s known for its contrast and very unique colors.

The day I shot this was one of those days where the color just worked — especially the reds. The tone-on-tone between the brick and the geraniums (I think?) was already strong, but the film made it even more rich and textured. What makes this one for me is how limited the palette feels. There’s a simplicity to it — almost like it was all meant to blend together.

I chose to make this limited as it’s one of my favorite images I’ve ever shot on 35mm film. Additionally, this is the first collectable print I’ve offered that was shot on film.
