I don’t shoot a lot of black and white, but for this one it made sense right away. The light was doing this strange thing — almost like a flashlight — and hit just one flower that had pushed its way through the gate. There was something about that little moment that stood out. Quiet, but kind of bold. Color would’ve distracted from it, so I stripped it back and kept the focus exactly where it needed to be.
